Job Description:

Job Overview: The Caseworker, Spanish Speaking, delivers trauma-informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants to facilitate a positive resettlement experience and achieve client self-sufficiency. Collaborating closely with clients, colleagues, and external entities, the Caseworker develops tailored service and self-sufficiency plans, leveraging diverse financial, medical, social, vocational, and other resources in accordance with client eligibility and program guidelines.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure clients have essential needs met and are oriented to their new environment.
  • Conduct intake services to assess client needs, develop self-sufficiency plans, and provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
  • Assess and monitor client progress towards established goals, address challenges, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, input client information in databases, and assist with tracking and reporting as required.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with coworkers, partner organizations, and service providers.
  • Utilize personal, insured transportation for client transportation and material conveyance.
  • May oversee the training and activities of volunteers and interns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Relevant professional experience in human services field required; minimum of 2 years' experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills.
  • Proven success in multi-cultural communication and collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet-based research tools.
  • Valid driver's license and access to personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

  • Combination of standard office environment, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area.
  • Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
