UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is dedicated to promoting gender equality, reproductive health, and youth empowerment worldwide. In Ukraine, UNFPA has been operating since 1997, striving to ensure every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The mission in Ukraine includes various initiatives such as creating conditions for youth development, sexual and reproductive health campaigns, combating gender stereotypes, and providing support to gender-based violence survivors.
Context:
Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Dnipropetrovsk region has become a safe haven for nearly half a million internally displaced Ukrainians. Among them, a significant portion are children and young adults. The city of Dnipro, despite facing missile and artillery attacks, has stood resilient and has been recognized for its efforts in implementing youth projects aimed at both local youth and displaced individuals.
Task Description:
As a UN Community Volunteer, you will:
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions to gather comprehensive information on the humanitarian needs of the affected population, particularly focusing on youth.
- Liaise with regional and municipal authorities to coordinate efforts and consolidate needs assessment data.
- Cooperate with partners at regional and local levels to ensure cohesive and complementary actions in response to the crisis.
- Provide essential support to local and internally displaced young people, including referral and facilitating access to specialized services such as gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health support.
- Ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in the field.
- Conduct regular awareness-raising activities aimed at reaching vulnerable communities.
- Ensure UNFPA's visibility on products and services.
Results/Expected Outputs:
- Effective support provided to local youth and young IDPs through various activities tailored to meet their humanitarian needs.
- Application of Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspective in all activities throughout the assignment.
- Preparation of a final statement highlighting contributions to volunteerism, including reports on the number of young people assisted, activities participated in, and capacities developed.

- Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of Ukraine.
- Required Education Level: Secondary education
- Languages: Fluent in Ukrainian
