Purpose and Summary Statement
The Data Control Specialist is responsible for managing master data in SAP and OMNI ERP systems and analyzing master data maintenance activities to ensure proper database governance.
Essential Job Functions
- Data Maintenance: Maintain system updates for assigned data, ensuring information is current across all corporate applications for GROWMARK members, customers, and vendors.
- Database Updates: Execute required updates to databases.
- ERP System Utilization: Analyze and prioritize update requests to maximize the capabilities of the ERP system.
- Client Assistance: Assist clients with query information and provide advice to achieve optimal transaction results. Resolve issues that arise during the maintenance setup or from order to invoice stages.
- Communication: Verify and update banking changes by communicating with clients and banks.
- Procedural Queries: Address procedural questions related to maintenance transactions.
- System Knowledge: Learn and understand SAP and OMNI structures and functionalities.
- Data Setup: Set up appropriate customer and vendor data, manage system adjustments for mergers, consolidations, and acquisitions, and communicate data changes to relevant personnel.
Other Job Functions
- AGIIS Directory Maintenance: Manage information on SAP using the AG Industry Identification System (AGIIS) Directory, adding entities, changing statuses, and assigning EBID and GLN numbers as necessary.
- Report Distribution: Distribute daily, weekly, and monthly SAP production reports to appropriate divisions and facilities.
- Reporting and Data Retrieval: Using Business Objects, create reports that enhance maintenance activity for clients.
- Client Support: Assist clients in accessing reports and other SAP information.
- Policy Adherence: Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: An associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent, along with one year or more of accounting-related work experience to demonstrate database maintenance and problem-solving skills.
- Abilities: Demonstrate essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
- Licensing: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Preferred Knowledge: Understanding of GROWMARK accounting information systems, data governance, information queries and retrieval, recommendations, documentation, and reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, OMNI, and Business Objects, with the ability to learn other GROWMARK-related software.
- Availability: Must be available to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Training: Willingness to participate in required training, including GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training related to the position's requirements.
