About Us
The Partnership for a Better San Diego (PBSD) stands as the 501(c)3 nonprofit extension of the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council, an influential labor organization representing over 130 unions and advocating for the rights and welfare of 200,000 working families across the region. Our core mission is to foster and expand the labor movement within San Diego and Imperial Counties. We aim to elevate union awareness through diligent community outreach and engagement initiatives, alongside offering robust training and development programs designed to unlock access to quality union jobs.
Our Work Environment
We are committed to creating an environment ripe with opportunities for growth and professional development. Recognized for our comprehensive training programs, we offer one week of classroom instruction followed by two weeks of immersive on-the-job training at a hotel. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are friendly, maintain a positive outlook, and possess the ability to work harmoniously with others.
Role Responsibilities
- Transporting and cleaning cooking utensils and cookware.
- Stocking and maintaining kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Ensuring kitchen areas remain clean and free of hazards.
- Participating actively in our comprehensive training program to develop essential job skills.
Who We're Looking For
- Individuals ready to contribute to a meaningful cause.
- Candidates who are friendly, team-oriented, and carry a positive attitude.
- People prepared for physically demanding work, capable of standing for extended periods, bending, twisting, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 200 pounds (on a cart).
