Background:
UNICEF in Türkiye is dedicated to improving the foster care system and strengthening alternative care models. The Child Protection Intern will support the coordination and implementation of the “Improving the Foster Care System in Türkiye-IPA III” project. This involves drafting documents, maintaining records, and facilitating logistics for foster care-related events.

Deliverables:

  • Draft documents outlining partnership strategies and meeting agendas.
  • Maintain records of interactions with NGOs and analyze information.
  • Coordinate logistics for foster care events and activities.
  • Gain professional experience in program monitoring and documentation.
  • Participate in foster care project management and technical discussions.
  • Develop skills in communication, networking, and partnership building with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. program, or graduated within the past two years (applicants must be at least 18 years old), preferably in social sciences such as social work, sociology, international relations, or law.
  • Fluent in English, with strong writing and communication skills. Proficiency in another UN language is advantageous.
  • Experience or knowledge of child protection, alternative care systems, or foster care is beneficial.
  • Excellent academic performance demonstrated by recent records.
  • Past experience in related fields is a plus.

Modality:
The internship is on-site and full-time, based in Ankara.

Stipend and Insurance:
Interns will receive a nominal stipend per month according to UNICEF's guidelines. Health/accident insurance is mandatory.
