Background:
The UNICEF Office of Innovation (OOI) is seeking two Innovative Financing Interns for its Innovative Finance Hub in Helsinki, Finland. The interns will support the office's mission to catalyze global capital in support of children to fill the SDG gap and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on sustainable finance frameworks and child-lens investing.
- Provide internal support, including developing briefing notes and presentations for senior management and key external events and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the IF Hub Communications team for social media and external outreach.
- Assist with various tasks related to innovative finance as needed.
Expected Deliverables:
- Report of activities supported during the 6-month internship.
- Presentation materials, analysis reports, and communication support as requested.
- Research briefs on sustainable finance frameworks and a database of contacts and partners.
Essential Requirements/Educational Background:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or graduated within the past two years in Finance, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
- Previous work experience or internships in finance and/or sustainable finance (ESG, impact investing, etc.) preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in working with sustainable finance or related fields.
- Strong capacity to work effectively in inter-divisional teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is required.
Conditions:
- Interns must be at least 18 years old.
- Good academic performance demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- No immediate relatives working in any UNICEF office.
- Interns must have proof of medical insurance covering the time and location of their internship.
- Interns are expected to provide their own laptop.
- Monthly stipend provided.
- Interns must fund their own travel and living expenses.
- Interns are responsible for arranging any visa or immigration requirements.
- No expectancy of employment at the end of the internship.
