Junior Project Assistant

Mission and Objectives:

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. The Project Assistant will assist in the implementation and reporting of social cohesion and diaspora engagement projects in Tunisia.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  • Monitor budget and update budget-related information.
  • Support administrative organization of project implementation, including liaison with various organizational units and external parties.
  • Draft status reports and correspondence, reports, briefing notes, etc.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Respond to general information requests and inquiries; maintain files/records.
  • Assist in organizing and participating in meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor's degree in relevant fields with two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience: Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, international institutions, and NGOs. Experience in working with migrants, refugees, and vulnerable groups is advantageous.
  • Skills: Capacity to work effectively within a team, time management, computer literacy (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook), organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic, French, and English.
  • Languages: Fluency in Arabic, French, and English (oral and written).
  • Competencies: Inclusion and respect for diversity, integrity and transparency, professionalism, courage, empathy, teamwork, delivering results, managing and sharing knowledge, accountability, communication.

  • This selection process may be used for similar positions in various duty stations.

  • Appointment is subject to certification of medical fitness, residency, visa, and authorizations by the concerned government. COVID-19 vaccination is required.
